Well, actually, this is Queen Elizabot IV, your Fobot of the week. When the human Queen Elizabeth II was crowned in 1953, every company in Great Britain that produced ANYTHING you could sell in a tin, made special souvenir coronation tins for the event. Many of them survive to this day, and a special few (well, four, so far) have become Queen Elizabots, complete with the Queen’s ubiquitous handbag*. Other components include an oil lamp part, pressure gauge, tea balls, hydraulic fittings, laboratory clamps, and tartlet tins. And, like all the Fobots that open up, a brass heart dangles from a little chain inside her chest. Because even robot queens have hearts.
*And just what would Queen Elizabot keep in her little handbag? A spare tiara, batteries, breath mints, and a robot corgi would be my guess.
This is my favorite one so far! Love the crown & brooch.
