Fobot necklaces

necklacesAnd now, for those of you who want a Fobot, but can’t bear to leave it at home–Fobots you can wear around your neck! These little darlings measure 3 1/2″ to 4 1/2″ tall, and come with an adjustable 30″ chain. And, in true Fobot tradition, they open up to reveal a tiny heart inside. Subject to availability–those teeny-weeny tins are wicked hard to find!

Wouldn’t it be cool if it would hold an mp3 player inside?

My first impulse was to say “Great idea, but the little aspirin tins are only between 1 1/4 and 1 3/4″ tall”. But I dunno–you and Rod are always on top of all this tech stuff–do they make MP3 players that small? If not today, then maybe next week…

I see you’re from North Carolina, but I’m not sure where. If you’re near Raleigh, you can order one from Accipiter Gallery. If not, you can order directly from my website, http://www.ifobot.com. They’re $160. Unfortunately, I’m swamped filling gallery orders right now (those tiny tins are wicked hard to find) but I’m sure we can work something out!

    Hi Amy
I live in a completely different part of the world from you, love your work and wondered if I should look out for tins when browsing 2nd hand stores? So apart from sweet and tobacco tins, how big do you want to go? Tea caddy, cake/cookie tins?

Erilyn–that’s so sweet of you to think of me! But I don’t want to put you to any trouble, and besides, I am incredibly picky about what tins I use. But if you see anything just too fantastic to pass up–send me a little cell phone picture or something. BTW–I always thought the little tobacco tins were great, but I’ve actually had gallery owners tell me that they refuse to sell anything tobacco related!

Amy – the offer is there. Check out http://www.trademe.co.nz under antiques and collectibles, there is a sub-category for tins. If you see anything, let me know. Sometimes good things come up, and I can understand about the tobacco tins. Regards.

Could you tell me how much you charge for your necklaces. I’d love to have one but have to see if it fits my budget. I really love your fobots!

Hi Janet–They sell for $160. Sorry they’re so much, but they’re harder to make than the big bots, and the tiny aspirin tins are hard to find. But they do come in their own metal gift box!
