Meet my new little friends. After over 25 years as a professional illustrator, I woke up one morning and said “Enough! It’s time to do something different!”
Inspired by my uber-talented friend, Viv Eisner, and by a visit to City Foundry in Brooklyn, I’ve started making what I call “Fobots”, or Found Object Robots. Each one is lovingly crafted from cool, vintage junk, and is a unique, one-of-a-kind sculpture. They are not toys, they are not functional, and they will not go on a rampage while you sleep.
I feel like I’ve been making these little guys all my life–I just didn’t get around to starting until June. And, as I like to say, they combine two of my favorite pastimes–making things and shopping. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!
Amy,
Had a blast visiting your site and meeting the Fobots. Would like to visit with you and blew it on the contact message I tried to leave. So much for my computer skills.
Please give me a holler at your convenience.
Peace,
Ki
